garden tractor chains

Hi,

I have an older WH/Toro and I'm looking for some chains.

Tires say 22 x9.00x 12, but chains seem to go from 20 to 23.

Closest would seem to be 23 x 9.50 x 12

Would I need some kind of tighteners to make those work?

Thanks,

hj

You can cut down chains, or if you want a cheaper option use small car tire chains. I did this on my Sears SS18, it would have been better with two link chains but the four link chains worked ok in mud and snow. I got a pair from wal-mart for about $15.
As long as the width is close you can just shorten the side chains to make up for the smaller diameter.

Thanks Jared,

They still have chains for cars -- who'd a thunk it
