Arrow Winter & Storage preparation thread

Well we've gotten all the water lines blown out and antifreeze added.
Holding tanks all have a bit of antifreeze in them to make sure there's not any water that will freeze and compromise valves etc. sta-bil added to the fuel and generator run to circulate. Tires aired up, camper cleaned out, batteries removed to be kept in my shop. 3 boxes of Bounce clothes softener sheets throughout to disuade mice from setting up housekeeping in any nook or cranny.

And today we got the Toy Hauler wrapped up this afternoon.. Special thanks to my lovely wife for being fearless enough to walk the roof and pulling/pushing/cajoling that Adco cover into place.. The cover was supposed to fit from 37 to 40 foot. We are right at 40 foot and this baby was t-i-g-h-t !!!

Lookin good Randy but that storage location scares me, It looks like prime mouse territory with the silos right next to it...

Those silos have not been used for close to 10 years but there is still just enough around there where mice love it.. And then there are the dozen or so cats that live in the barn next door that love mice. The trailer is sealed up well and is full of Bounce dryer sheets (which have always worked for me). If I were a mouse and had my choice of a silo with some food in it, or a camper that smells bad (to mice), I think I would keep my mousey little butt in the silo!

Wow, that cover looks like a lot of work Loving my covered storage WITH electricity for $65 per month !

must be the weekend to do it all - There were 4 or 5 people at the storage lot winterizing today... first freeze in the dfw area this week !
Was supposed to be in Houston camping this week, but had to cancel... STILL camping next month though !

re your grass... I would make a few runs at the tall grass right next to it just to help the mice 'decide' where to go and looking at my pic below - mice are not the only thing I worry about!!!

(but do tell the DW we all appreciate that ford outfit !!!)

Oh yeah, cajoling. I forgot, that is what I do alright when I am putting one of those suckers on, cajole. When I am up on the roof I like to think of it as "vocabulary building".

And for sure, I know those 40-footers are supposed to fit 40 feet, but I can't figure out whose tape their are using to determine 40 feet!

I think I would mow it down a bit further from the 5er if I were you.

Randy - that sure looks good. I'm still hoping mine will fit tomorrow as our 5er is at 37' 9-11 inches and I ordered the 34-37'1" as the next larger size (yours) would have 4-5 feet flapping around that I would have to wad up and find a way to fasten (past ADCOs also ran long too).

Ahhhhh yes, mice!! Then there are their rodent relatives, chipmunks which can be even worse as I've found out about several years ago with a small bumper pull when they chewed holes through the plastic reefer vent grid, ate the fridge controls, much of the surrounding insulation then ate a hole in a wall into the living area plus leaving a 2' deep nest in the vent and causing close to $1500 worth of damage and many hours of my time for repairs. Even my little ISEKI diesel yard tractor has suffered from those little beasts along with tunneling under my asphalt driveway causing holes when driven over.

My eye has gotten quite good with my pellet gun on those pesky little furry creatures! And all the neighbors ask if I need more ammo! My squirrel and chipmunk population has taken quite a drop in the past few years. Esp since they caused a $1000.00 + bill for replacing my engine wiring harness!

A 40 caliber sub compact pistol takes care of gophers too!

I have been know to assassinate a few of both, but it's a losing battle. My yard is filled with 100' marble err.... oak trees.

This is the air cleaner from my ISEKI, complete with chippy bodies:

There is a screen across the intake tube now
