resale value of a few options
Hello everyone -- I'm in the sad situation where my F150 got wrecked, and may be a total loss. A bone of contention with the insurance company is what some of the options add to the "fair market value" vs. not having them. I'd be interested in what people think the following options should add to the value of the truck if I were to sell it.
-- limited slip rear diff
-- trailering package
-- optional 17" chrome wheels and 265x75 tires
-- almost-new Michelin tires (over 90% tread remaining)
Would appreciate any thoughts.

Tires are the only thing I see adding value and you'd need to document that they were recently put on. I had a major wreck with my '97 the day I put new tires on and had to show the receipt to the insurance.
When someone is buying a used truck the other options aren't a major buying point either way. New tires do help though.

Think of it this way, most trucks now have the trailer package, very rare not to, the LS is most likely worn out at this point and it is getting to be a very standard option. So are 17" rims, they are basically the base size now and the options are 18"-20". So really you just wouldn't be penalized for not having those things like most of the used trucks out there do. Kind of like painting your truck pink, you'd then be deducted for it, but if it was white it wouldn't be worth any more than any other truck.
