Take your time and let that heal. At this point just being able to be above room temperature is a good thing. It'll take months before you are back to normal as far as strength and stamina goes.
Good to have you still here. Get well soon but don't rush!

Glad you got your plumbing fixed, Gary. And from your description, seems you avoided the emergency house call. Rest up, and get well soon. Stu

Assuming that you got a Dr. that knew how to work on your flathead (heart) valves and not just those new fangled overhead valves! hoping for your speedy recovery. Always enjoy your posts.

GB, it sounds like it was a good idea to get that stent put in.... Good thing you had teh by pass before trouble really cropped up! Good luck and speedy recovery!

And why must I read this in the 47 and older forum where I usually don't go to???

I guess the 47 earlier group was last place i did a truck. I know there a lot of friends on the 48 56 group, but i haven't had a truck of that era for a few years. Got released from the hospital this afternoon, but we chose to spend a night in a motel nearby before taking the ferry back to the island in the morning. I never looked into this surgery becaue of how it came up rather sudden like. They cut right through your sternum and spread your ribcage with heavy clamps. Then deflate a lung so thry havr room to work on your heart. Next they wire your ribs back together with heavy stainless wire that remains. When they woke me up i had a drain tube suitcase in my side, two plastic chest cavity drain tubes about 1/2"dia and 2 wire cables about 14 gauge positive and negative poked thru my chest into my heart muscle. Also about 12 other tubes including a urinary catheter.mosst of these were stripped out yesterday. I plan on changing my diet as that is all they know can help. The repair is not a permanent fix for coronary heart disease.
