Exhaust Manifolds
#17
They're CNC plasma cut and 3/8" thick. I already have 2" pipes welded to them and will have that engine running as soon as I get the oil filter relocated!!

The exhaust manifold down pipes have to bend back rather abruptly to miss, making the left one run into the oil filter.........So to make room for the left pipe, I am moving the filter to a point in front of the left engine mount.
I'll take a couple of pictures, but suffice it to say, side mounts don't play well with Rams Horns. unless you make adjustments! Moving the filter makes lots of room and I can mount the filter vertically.
If I was able to use the standard truck engine and trans (bell-housing) mounting, it wouldn't be a problem.

Please do post the pictures and how you relocated the oil filter. Was there a kit or did you have to fab your own? I'm going to run into a similar situation in the future when my 223 gives up and plan on installing a Y Block 292 I have. I have a passenger car cross member and use side engine mounts. I had put that in when I originally built the truck with a 390FE so I can swap 223, Yblock or FE anytime. Funny now but I pulled the 390 and put in the 223 when gas went over a $1.00 LOL..

It's the oil filter adapter and filter mount from the 1987 OMC (ford) 460 marine engine I removed from my boat to replace with a Mercruiser 454.
The adapter fits the Y-block perfectly and the filter mount is fairly universal (except it has the letters O M C on it!!)
Both the adapter and mount use 1/2" NPT fittings. I'm going to use bent steel pipe (double flared) for the plumbing since the both will be mounted rigidly to the engine.
I did try to use braided SS lines and aluminum fittings but the hose is so rigid and short, it's just easier (and MUCH cheaper) to just use a tubing bender, flaring tool and use metal.

I have no "kit" per se'.........
