Exhaust Manifolds

I ran across these for $150. The seller says they came off a T-Bird.

Opinion on fitment and performance on my 64 F100 292/AT?

I currently have the stock crossover with single exhaust.

They look like they will flow nice, is there going to be a fit problem with the center sparkplug wires the manifold is tight were the center's come together. If they dont have any fitment issues why not use them, you can even have them coated while there off. Your going to have to change your y-pipe or go to duals, but the sweep looks good. Hope they work out for you! Good luck

Very nice!

I had a similar set on my 57 Fairlane when I was in high school.

Will the left manifold clear your steering box ? That was a problem for earlier trucks.....

A lot of people opt for the Ramshorns in a pickup.

Fitment is one of my questions. I have a shop that will fab the pipes, but if there is going to be any fitment problems I will just buy the Ram Horns.

I got mine from Mummert.

If you do get them, ask him to include the flanges! I had to order them separately but he supplied them pronto and I had them in a couple of days!

I've already gotten the pipes welded on and they look GREAT!

I also had mine ceramic coated (inside & out) and they REALLY look nice!

There's a couple of pictures in my profile.......

Which "AT" (autotrans?) are you using?

You're going to have steering box issues. People have made them fit but it requires that you get creative with the pipe and that creativity will be detrimental to the overall performance.

So the way I see it is this. If you can confirm that they are T-bird manifolds, buy them and sell them for a profit to a T-bird guy and...

Just get the rams horns. They fit easier. They perform better. They look better.

Odds are those manifolds are not T-bird manifolds. A lot of Y-block stuff magically become T-Bird parts when they are for sale but most are not.

The guy says he took them off a T-bird, he isn't saying they are T-bird manifolds.

It doesn't matter, sound like they are more trouble than they are worth.

They look a lot like the ones on my 56 fairlane which has the original factory manifolds. Then i have another set off of a 57 fairlane which look to be the same . I think the casting numbers may give what they came off of , but im not sure.

Im not in a hurry to buy.

I split the DD duties between the f100 and a 65 Mustang.

There is a big swap meet here every November, Im going to look for ram horns and a 4V intake there.

Im putting all the disposable cash into my wifes student loans before the end of the year, we have paid about 1/2 of them off and are trying to be done with them in the next three years, so the truck projects are a second priority.

As far as rams horns go, unless you just stumble across a set and the seller has no clue what they are and therefore, the price is ridiculously low, just buy a new set from Mummert. Saves all the hassles of dealing with old rusty iron and shouldn't cost much more.
When looking for used, make sure you don't confuse the Lincoln version for the Ford version. Easy way to tell, the Ford bolt pattern is inline, the Lincoln version is zig-zag.

Where is this swap meet?

Yeah. I wouldn't even waste my time with used ones. There was a time when they were selling rusty used ones for $500+ on ebay etc!!

When the excellent aftermarket ones came out, the used ones (of course) dropped in price but they're still pretty expensive if you find nice ones. They're still not better than the new ones you can get from Mummert and others.....

Speaking of Mummerts ram horns, has anyone came up with a source for the flanges that bolt exhaust pipes to the ram horns?
