Maybe we'll both get our trucks running in the next couple of days... if we didn't live 3.4 light years away we could have some beers to celebrate.
lol. I can't drink much anymore, but with my FTE buddies, I'd gladly suffer the 3-day hangover.

One thing I like about you and John both--seems you both have a great sense of humor and are persistent.

So you have a few issues going on and you are slowly eliminating them.

The no start was due to the seals on the IPR when hot? Now you have Diesel in the oil? Bubble test failed on which side?

Haven't tested sides yet. I hurt my back forking hay to my calves, and I'm kind of laid up today. First day I've actually had time to work on the truck in eons, and I can hardly move.

And David, as far as persistent goes... my dad always said you could pi$$ a hole through a rock if you had enough patience, I'm starting to wonder if the hole will ever appear in my 6.0 rock.

And Moe, you are right, I should have checked the most obvious things out first. But I've found I learn lots more if it isn't simple.

So, I took some anti-inflammatories for my back, and they got a big esophagus spasm going, and I'm in worse shape today than I was yesterday. Haven't ate or drank anything since last night.
But I did find enough energy to find which side has the leaking injector, it's the drivers side. And it appears to be only one injector, judging from the bubble pulses.

I watched Anthony's u-tube video, and was stressing on how to cap the fuel bowl during the test, I have nothing that fits and I'm 30 miles from town, then I discovered the fuel barely seeps out, so I ended up just cracking the line fittings, and that was good enough to pinpoint it.
Good news is, I have 4 seal kits left over from my top injector o-ring fiasco a few years back, so I think I'm just going to pull all 4 injectors rather than mess with the glowplugs.
I just need to start feeling better so I can work on the thing... I'm actually looking forward to it.

Well, so much for that. Pulled all 4 injectors, everything looks perfect. The O-rings look perfect, the copper washers look perfect, the cups are clean and shiny. I torqued them to 24 lbs/ft as usual when I rebuilt it, I'm lost. So sick of this thing...

Ok, I had a breather and calmed down. A bit. One of these things was obviously leaking - it was putting bubbles back in the fuel bowl. I'm going to emery cloth the injector ends, (there are some carbon spots on them), re-o-ring and washer them, blow the bolt holes and cups clean, and torque them to 26lbs/ft this time. And get ready to trade it off if it doesn't work... I've just about had enough. Going on 7 months without the truck.
Don't worry, I won't go Dodge or "shudder" GM, I'll probably go right to the 6.7 or maybe go gas.
Or maybe I'm just tired and sick and over reacting and I'll keep it when I calm down and feel better.

John,
Do you have one of the hand vacuum pumps?
Find some hose and see if you have an injector
that leaks down faster than the others. Just
stick the nozzle into some snug vinyl tubing
and a tiny hose clamp.

BTW I checked and you only 14hrs away from me.
Just a bit closer and I would have to see about a
road trip.

Ok, tried that, they all held 25 inches of vacuum for 5 minutes. If one was leaking internally, would it still make bubbles in the fuel bowl?

One way to pin down the offending injector is to remove all of the glow plugs and with all of the injectors installed, install one glowplug at a time and do the bubble test, when you come to a cylinder that creates bubbles during the test remove that glowplug and continue the test until you've hit all 8 cylinders.
