Idk if BTS still tunes trucks or not. Cale, Brian's son, used to do the tuning for BTS, but Cale ventured out on his own and started Tyrant Diesel. Last I heard, he had to quit tuning because business was so busy.

Well that is unfortunate so now I'm going to have to hunt down a tuner. I don't want excessive smoke I want power. I'd like to have one that smokes for jackasses on the highway but mostly efficient power

Each truck is different too. You just don't know how it will react to different tunes til you try them imo. Mine loves php tunes. I've never had an excessive smoke problem, and great power. Never tried any others either, so can't comment on them.

Gearhead tunes on my SD drive like a stock truck at the top half of the pedal. Once you get to half throttle, things start coming to life. The race tune is even extremely controllable in the smoke department. It will smoke if I purposely get on it under the turbo, but no big deal. Drive like a normal person and it drives normal. The power is there too. I have Tony Wildman and Gearhead tunes on that truck and Tony's stuff feels a little more potent, but they smoke way more. I still like the feel of Tony's tunes and usually find myself using his tunes, but when I get into town where I need no smoke and still want good power, I switch to Gearhead every time.

How do you stack tunes like that? Send it off and have the first three done and then the second three somewhere else or is it actually two chips?

I think Travis is talking about two chips. I bought a TS burner in hopes of 'stacking' my favorites onto one chip but you have to erase the whole chip before burning tunes onto it.

Glenn or Travis, how exactly does stacking work? Is one more fuel related and the other timing? I googled it but eh, I figured I'd just ask if the OP doesn't mind..

No this is all good info and is good to have all in one thread. My main goal is to see how many tuners there are out there to look into. Since BTS doesn't do it anymore I guess.and Tony Wildman was the only other one I knew of really. I'd like to have someone live tune it but idk if I got anyone around KC that does

I might have gotten that post of mine all wrong. I was thinking at the time stacking was putting your favorite tunes on one chip. Travis better tune in on this. LOL

I have always wanted live tuning and I also haven't had any luck in finding it.

You don't "stack" chips on a 7.3. In the Dodge world they stack tuners and modules. When they do it, they are using a pressure box with a separate tuner for timing and other stuff.

I run a Hydra chip, so I can burn my chip with tunes emailed to me by my tuners. They are separate tunes, just like your TS. I just have 10 different tunes. 6 from Tony and 4 from Matt.

Understood. Thanks! Jody at DP called me today to confirm my tunes and I asked him about stacking; I read that on some rare occasions people would stack the 10k mod with a tuner or chip. Jody said there was no need for the 10k in unison with his tunes, he's already got it covered and it'd make the throttle ultra twitchy...

BTS reburned my ts chip back in August. Unless they just stopped doing it id say they still are. My truck runs so much better now. I would give em a call
