Tony Wildman Chip

Got my Bully Dog chip that tony reburned today and I can deff say its 100x better than I even thought it would be!! With the Bully Dog programs on the highest setting it didnt give me half the power tonys did on "race". It also made my tranny shift a lot firmer. If any of you are thinking about having your chips reburned or if your gonna buy one I would highly recommend Tony he does one hell of a job!

thanks for sharing...How do you get in contact with him? I have a TS chip and I don't see much of a difference between settings. Obviously I never use the 100 and 140 hp settings as I have stock injectors. It would be nice to talk to him more about it.

Bill, Tony does have great tunes.
but if you have a stock truck, the differences are a bit different.

I have stock injectors too and it made a huge difference in my truck. I also installed the "Cali Kit" FPR to bump up my fuel pressure, Im sure that helps as well.

There's absolutely no reason not to use those settings, you just won't get as much power with stock injectors. When I got my chip from Tony he didn't put HP numbers on them like other tuners do for that reason.

I've been dealing with Tony for three years now and I've never been able to talk to him on the phone, only leave a message. I usually email but that takes awhile to get a reply also.

I also didn't get any HP ratings on my settings. To me its obvious that the HP increase from econ to extreme. That's why I was so surprised on that thread about DP tunes where 80 HP econ setting and a 40 HP setting for tow. To me that is the opposite of the way it should be. In other words, if I had a DP, should I tow my camper in econ mode because a 40HP setting would not cut it with the heavy load????

Far as I know, tow and Economy modes are timing changes to reduce EGT's or get better fuel burn.
But i'm not a tuner, so I am not sure.

I get my best daily driving performance out of the "Tow" setting. It's very odd. Better throttle response, starts much quicker, and not very smokey.

The "Daily" setting gives me a quick throttle, but too much smoke. The "Extreme" setting is my next favorite.

I do *not* have a stock setting. Well see what the Stage 1's do with all of this.

Yeah, I elected to go without the stock setting this time and get a smoke setting to try it. my oh my what a waste of space.

My extreme setting smokes more.
But the smoke setting will smoke without a load.

Smoke is bad anyways.
It looks cool, but it just leaves soot in your oil, which is the biggest killer to our engines.

Congrats on the upgrade. Now you can laugh at all those people with the Bully Dog / Superchips / Edge stickers all over their truck. The difference is amazing when you step up to a real chip from those off the shelf tuners.

I talked with Brian at BTS the other day and he said the only difference between his daily driver tuning and the tow tunes is the tranny/torque converter tuning. That may not be true about all tuners though...
