Best way to use MP3's? 2015 F 250
I know this question is not specific to my truck model, but thought I'd ask here.
We are kinda old-school and used to one CD at a time--we appreciated the disc changer in the last truck. Don't own an MP3 player, although I understand that our phones can do that. So, this is a really uninformed newbie question; I just need to get started out right.
I understand that if I plug in an MP3, the console will download all of the MP3's on it. So, rather than carrying the discs, I thought I'd rip them to an MP3 player. But I don't want to download everything from the player to the truck every time we get in. Sometimes we want a particular artist for awhile, sometimes it's Christmas, etc. Is there a way to do this, to perhaps, just transfer the contents of a playlist? Or, do I need to get a bunch of cheap MP3 players and essentially treat them like mixtapes? or does the truck save what we download, despite what the salesman said?
Thank you for your help!

I use my phone in my truck. It has the hard drive radio, but it is just too easy to use the phone. I even let my kids "be the DJ" and just connect their iPods and have at it.
Playlists are easy enough to set up. Just google your particular phone if you aren't sure how to create playlists and then connect via Bluetooth in your truck. Your truck shouldn't need to download a playlist if the playlist resides on your phone and you are connected via Bluetooth.
I have about 20GB of music on my iphone and it is plenty for me.

Now how do you change songs? With the arrow keys on the steering wheel? Also, how'bout choosing a particular song or artist? I tried that with my iPod and it was sort of a pain. That voice control thing sorta sucks. That voice thing could not under stand the words "FRANK FOSTER" at all. I just leave my iPod on the armrest and plug it in via the headphone cable. Its easier to just hit the button on the on the iPod. That and before I leave the parking lot at work, I can easily select a song and drive off.
