2012 F350 Powersteering Problem @ Idle?
Hey guys my trucks acting up.
Its really hard to turn the steering wheel when the truck is at a stop.
When the truck is rolling it works as it should.
This just happened yesterday after I did a few 'celebratory donuts' after winning the last high performance karting event of the year in NH.
Any suggestions? My mechanic is going to look at it today. From our conversation on the phone he suggested maybe a locked up ball joint and a few other things I can't remember at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you!

Hi,
Power train warranty is 60,000 miles/ 5 years Does this qualify? I do not know. I would recommend to check Ford's Warranty paperwork on the service site.
As for the power steering pump. I had mine go after hitting a patch of ice in the complex where I worked. One of the guy's that use to work there came in after lunch and proceeded to rag on me about my truck losing oil all over the parking lot. I said yeah right and went out in the parking lot to see some kind of hydraulic oil on the ground flowing from my truck. Then I got the number of "should of bought brand X vehicle" and POS Ford comments. Turns out there was a TSB about the power steering pump. My PS pump was replaced with a updated version. I was also covered under my ESP since I was beyond 60,000 miles at the time. So it was my deductible. No problems since.
Good luck!

Just wanted to post an UPDATE on my thread here:
My trucks back to 100% after the pump replacement.
It was really straight forward and took less than 2hrs from start to finish (and no we did not bust our ***** to hustle through the job-there was room to have things done faster)
The pump itself was around $260 from Ford.
I'll take the blame on this one-I was doing donuts with the steering wheel at full lock. I was not aware of the pressure/damage I was doing to my truck.
In the end I've got to thank my mechanic Kevin at King Street Performance.
He saved my butt big time! The dealerships were going to have my truck for a few days which was going to shut down my landscaping business. Thanks to Kevin we were working the next morning like nothing happened.
I'm really lucky to have him as a friend and a mechanic!
