Still in search of a truck

I went and looked at another b4000 the other day. I am really wanting to get my hands on something before the snow starts flying here in ny. Any way it was a 98 4.0 4x4 5 speed with 161,000 miles. There were a few issues with it but I'm trying to figure if it is worth buying and fixing the issues. The reason I am considering the truck is the frame is in excellent shape for being a ny truck no rust at all and that is very hard to find here in the salt belt. Any way here are the issues I found- 1. The front passanger side shock was completely broken in half. Not an expensive fix and one I can do in the drive way. 2. The exhaust pipe is broken off from the muffler back. Still not to big of a deal to me but the next three issues is were it gets interesting. 3. There is coolant leaking from the front top of the engine where the intake a idols meets the block. 4. The 4x4 didn't seem to work, the truck already has locking hubs installed. And finally 5 and the one I think is the biggest issue is it sounds like there is a knock at low rpms mostly on the drivers side. The guy said he just changed the oil not lang ago if that means anything. The last we left off he wanted 3,000 for the truck but I was hoping to get him down a little more with these issues. Any help would be great thanks.

I know this is not a big help but expand your search area:

ranger for sale

2001 Ford Ranger 4x4

Ford Ranger 4x4

A plane ticket is still cheaper than some of the stuff you are looking at.
