Mine did that cruise deal coming home from rre . I haven't had it do it again tho. I could see if a cam signal dropped out if the pcm saw that then it would cancel the cruise control.

Also,on the range sensor. When you go from neutral to d at idle does the engine loose speed or sound like it actually gains speed? Mine would sound like it lost until I replaced mine. Now mine is much better and dropping out of gear is a normal issue associated with trans range sensor

Did you happen to be changing lanes when the cruise cut out?

No just going down the road. Cruise was set at 60, I panicked a bit at first because I had a truck following behind me too close for me

Little-known feature of the OBS PCM - proximity sensor; disengages the cruise when someone is tailgating, as a warning to get them to back off.

Okay, I made that up.... One remote possibility is that if you hit a bump, and the brake pedal switch is on a hair-trigger, the bump could've caused the brake pedal switch to close very briefly, and interrupted the cruise. Just about anything out of kilter with the brake light circuit can cause cruise interruptions. (Thus the question about changing lanes - if you hit the turn signal with the cruise engaged, and the center stop light is inop, it will kill the cruise).

Did you happen to notice if the torque converter unlocked at the same time?
