Thanks for that verification. So I can thank my rotted cowls to the lovely trees of Colorado as shown in some pics I have of the truck from PO...lol. Does this in anyway signify that it was a cab and chassis only? Somehere in the docs I got from PO I thought it mentioned it was a cab and chassis with no bed when ordered. Not certain. Anybody have a good pic of the red crush vinyl / red rib seats from back in the day or know where I can get that duplicated? Thanks again.

East of the Rockies, Colorado is mostly scrub brush desert. How many 1961/66 trucks are extant in New England without rust?

I was in Buffalo (I know that's not NE) a coupla years ago, 1973/75 F100 parked on the street: bottoms of the front fenders, rocker & quarter panels, doors were rusted away, roof around the drip rails resembled Swiss Cheese.

No code within the VIN or stamped on the Warranty Plate identifies what type of "back of cab" equipment (if any) these trucks came with.

So, it could have been sold new as a Styleside with the 'wrong' bed, Flareside, Cab & Chassis, or with factory installed flat or stake bed.

Finding a 1964 Ford Truck Soft Trim Catalog with the colored upholstery swatches, will not be EZ

smsautofabrics.com (located in Canby OR) should have the upholstery material, will need the year, series and BODY code.

I am a new member looking for some tips on vin decoding myself. I have two 4wd C series fords. A C600 and a C750. Any help would be appreciated. I have had the C600 for a couple years, but I just bought the C750 from a government surplus auction. It is a firetruck with super singles, 4wd, and automatic trans. They sent me the title showing it as an 81 F750 Diesel, but its gas, and not a f series.

This one has the title wrong(81 f750 diesel)
Is a C750 gas, automatic, 4wd fire truck

This one is titled as a 68 c600, is gas, manual 4wd dump bed

I cannot read either of these Warranty Plates. The 1st pic 4th digit of the VIN and the TRANS & AXLE codes are impossible to make out, the 2nd pic is at an angle.

Be aware that Ford did not offer factory installed 4WD in any C Series, so both are conversions, possibly by Marmon-Harrington.

I can make out the DSO codes, the 1st truck was ordered from the Buffalo NY Ford District Sales Office .. the 2nd from the Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office.

Be aware that you are high jacking someone else's thread. Not very forum friendly. Best to start your own thread if you aren't talking about their truck.

And it is easy. Just click the New Thread button on the top of this forum or click on this link
