My upper ball joint on the drivers side needs to be replaced, so obviously I'm going to replace all four.


Any recommendations on ball joints rockauto has a lot of options. I was just going to buy the motorcraft but thought I should ask here first.


The write up in the tech folder also includes parts I may need, are there any parts that I should buy to have on hand just in case?

Check out 1975stroppebaja's page in the tech folder. He did an entire write up and shows what all he replaced or serviced. Pictures, part numbers and instructions were all very detailed.

I am happy with my XRF ball joints.

 

XRF are on my build sheet when it comes time. At least one of our fearless moderators recommends XRF.

Yup, XRF here too, 1 year later and still tight

Best joints I ever used were the Dynatrac joints under my Dodge, expensive but very tight tolerances and servicable/rebuildable

 

There's an XRF distributor here in Toronto (Brampton exactly).

I just picked up something yesterday from a local supplier. I can give you his number if you want.

That's a great price for Canada. I never find any parts that are even close to the same price. I've already ordered so it's too late this time. But I'd love the name of the place for the future.
