How many here went to the Hershey RV Show?
The main purpose for my Excursion is to tow my travel trailer. If I did not tow a TT, I probably would have a smaller truck. So I think this is an appropriate posting considering how many things they had there for trucks and SUV's too.
We rented a Hotel room and stayed 2 nights. did the show Saturday and Sunday.
At the Rv show, I was able to talk to engineers from Reese and rant about a problem with my dual cam, asked (edit: CURT) them about the new reciever they have for the Ex, and Helwig was there and I was able to talk to them about parts I wanted to get and see the adjustable front sway bar endlinks for the Ex. They are nice!!
BTW, (edit: (Curt, not Reese) Reese engineer states that the one they make is just as capable as the OEM in every respect. He says they even use a slightly better alloy. The engineer was one of the ones that works on receivers. He says he feels more confident using his receiver than the OEM.
Put a Porta-Bote on a Lay-a-way plan while there, and figured out a way to make it easier for me to load it on the roof of the ex with the Thule Hullavator. I'd have to bu a set of rack bars, but what the hey; anything for my back. I'll see if it is the way I should go. That will be a December purchase for both..

Hi Stewart.
It is an old problem. It started when I bought the trailer in 2012 and got the new hitch in the package. I gave up after Reese just kept sending me replacement parts with the same issues.
You can read about it at this thread: (read down the page, too. I included diagrams)

Before I purchased my DC, I tried to read as much as I could on the setup, but don't remember that thread you linked me to, so thanks.
One of the things I read prior to installation was about binding during tight turns, which some people said bent the arms, so when I first installed the DC, during the shakedown tow around town and down the freeway, I found a big deserted paved area (easily done with Fort Ord being closed) and turned the Ex as tight as I could, lock to lock, and checked the arms for binding with zero problems noted.
I was very happy with the way the DC performed. It was a helluva lot better towing my 10k, 31' TT with the DC compared to the friction bar setup the dealership installed back in '07.
