I originally had planned to build a stroker short block for it, might still do that as I miss the torque that my 99 SD F250's 7.3 has. Just not sure the stock computer will handle the extra cubes, that's really the only thing holding me back (that and the labor involved) Other than that, I'm happy with the way the mods turned out. We bought this van used last year with 97K miles on it, the interior is like new, the exterior has the usual dings in the paint in front from the bugs and such. But from 100 ft, it looks almost new. We've done three trips in it to Texas, California and Colorado now, which is what we bought it for.

My old van was a '72 E300 super van.
I did a lot of cutting and installed a 72 351 Cleveland 2 bbl, with a C6.
Had to get a plate made for the front of the block to mount power steering pump etc.
It did feel more powerful and got better mileage than my '02 E50 V10 XLT 15 passenger does. And it didn't sound like it was screaming, while doing it.

I mounted a 25 gallon side tank and a 44 gallon rear tank.
I bought it used in '77 and drove it until '02, when I got the first new car in my life (my '02 E350).

You took a compression ratio hit with the GT40's (unless you cut the heads). The chambers are larger than the E8TE Windsor castings.

Well hang onto those E8TE heads then, cause you own the only pair in existence. GT40's chambers are the same size as the E7TE's that came off the roller 351

You're right about the E7TE casting number. But you just might want to check with Ford Motorsport on the latter.

Don't need to. Never seen em and I've taken apart dozens of 302/351 motors of late 80's/90's vintage. Never seen any reference to E8TE castings either. There was an E5TE casting referred to in their Mustang 5.0 manual, but I've never seen a set of those either.
