Changing the booster and master cylinder on my coe
Hello guys i have been worried about my single master cylinder and want to change over to a dual. The truck is a 54 F600 Coe with the normal master cylinder at the petal to the booster and slave cylinder.. I really dont want to go to a hydroboost system My questions are these. Should i mount a new style booster at the petal assembly with the master cylinder attached? What vehicle has a large 1 1/4 bore and openings of what i need? How will i determine rod lenth at the booster. Does any models bolt right up or am i making a plate? What size check valve do i need sence new master cylinders dont have them?

If you have the stock remote booster now, I'm not sure you would be able to plumb in a dual master cyl as the booster only has one inlet port.
Do you have room for a booster attached to the master cyl? What size is the bore of your stock master cyl? you will want one the same size....
The check valve simply plugs into a modern booster. It should come with a new one.

Learning as i go.
I have been away from this for a while but as i remember is that the lower mounted master cylinders needed the 2.5 - 5 pound (what ever your brake springs would return ) check because they were lower than wheel cylinders and new cylinders mounted on firewall didn't.So i would put 1 of them in for each side of a dual to benefit always having one side if other lost fluid. I dont know most sizes but i think master cylinder was 1 1/4 and wheel cyl. 1".
Tinman you have the chevy on yours is it a 1 1/4 with a 4 bolt mounting? Since the slave cyl. is only 1 in and 1 out i feel i wouldnt benefit keeping it.

looking to mount booster master cylinder together
I did not upgrade the 54 yet because i was still doing some research. I am comparing master cylinders and this is what i have found. The Chevrolet big trucks have a 1 1/4 master cyl. and booster even though Ill have dual reservoir
and only have to push 2 wheel cyl with each side i want a big bore. Im looking for 1/2 in -20 for my brake lines. My 54 coe master sits on top of the bottom rail with not alot of room for the booster where my 48 sits behind the frame much lower. You can mount it almost anywhere you can set linkage to it.
