BrParking Brake Equalizer

95 F250 4x4 5.8L Manual. The intermediate cable snapped just befor the equalizer. I started the repair yesterday. The primary cable going into the cab was also falling apart So I removed everything back to and including the equalizer. The previous owner obviously had problems before because someone welded the cable to the equalizer plate. I made a new plate. It's not the best but it's 3/16" 1,5" x 1.5" angle, so it should work. Here's a picture. I don't think it's too bad for a free hand drill and a hand file.

It happened once to me, but it was some time ago and I was able to find a replacement.

I'm seeing them listed at a few places online but so far no one actually has them. I called the local Ford dealer, they told me the part was discontinued. If this home made part works, it should out last the life of the truck.

Ford and Dodge used the same vendor for this part and Dodge sourced the identical item for some of its later model trucks too-- I don't have the interchange data anymore, but you might try searching Dodge trucks...

Thanks for the info. I'll check the local dealer.
