Looking for some sneaks

Hi,

Department of hard to believe.

I've been looking for some new sneakers. For the past few years, I'd just go to Wally (Target also worked) and get some Starters or Skechers for around $20.
(At one time they had air bladders that were really comfy).

Now they've got some other brand -- Avia or something -- that's pretty much c**p. They also have Dr. Scholls, but I've never liked them.

Even worse, nobody seems to have Starters or Skechers- there are a few Skechers, but they're $50. I just want some sneaks that last 6 months to a year and are reasonably comfortable.

Oh yeah, I also don't want them in screaming loud colors -- white or gray is good.

The shoe departments that I've been to lately are of little help. I guess that men don't wear shoes like that any more

Anybody know of some good alternatives? I will pay more if I have to, but I hate to do it.

Thanks,

hj

I use sneakers for work, they're light in weight and have better traction for what I do which is climbing around on big truck engines installing windshields. Typically I'll go through two pairs a year.

Target did have a brand of great sneakers, about $15 a pair---I'd snap up two pairs at one time in fact. That new brand Aviva or whatever isn't nearly as comfortable at least during the trial fit in the store---I passed on them since the price was double.

I'll keep looking but might have to start buying the "better" stuff just to have a supply of these "work shoes".
