Smelly shoes

Anyone know how to cure smelly shoes? I've tried the gold bond powder in them, and I've tried just airing them out, but the smell doesn't seem to go away. These are fairly new shoes too, and they started to smell after they got soaked and I let them dry out for 3 days. Any homemade remedies?

Try putting some of those Dr. Scholls Odor Des******s in your shoes. They have activated carbon in them and they worked for me.

Have you tried taking the insoles out and just scrubbing the heck out of them? Whenever my workboots get a tad smelly I just do that and they seem to be good for along time after.

I do the same as preppy and also put Generic Gold Bond in my boots daily. Helps A LOT.

I have two pairs of work shoes, use Gold Bond and alternate shoes every day. To wax seal is death to the leather as the shoes will become a steam locker. Even soaked in 90% alcohol they will smell as i'll wear a shoe 12 to 14 hours a day.

I used to use gold bond and it worked great, but one day I decided to try out Dr. Scholls arch supports cause my flat feet were killing me. Apparently it has activated carbon in it and I havent had to use the powder since. I really didnt like the powder felt, but I only used it to save my wife.

Why not just wash your feet and wear clean socks?

I will have to try the carbon thing. The power makes your feet feel funny sometimes.

My aunt had a cure for my smelly shoes when I used to visit my cousins and spend the night.

She threw them out the front door. (not kidding either)

I got some powder the other night, Big yellow bottle. But anyway, I put in a little before I slip them on. I don't put it right on my feet. It has a cool sensation to it. Kinda like icy hot, and I can't smell my feet anymore. I think it was Dr. Scholls with Xenodex (sp) or some BS chemical in it.

Yep, fresh socks and shower everyday. New shoes too. Stink like the cat dumped in them. I got some boots that don't come in the house anymore............
