block prep for stroker motor

is there any block prep required for a 351w stroker to a 393? the smallblock chevy 350 to be stroked to a 383 requires you to notch the pan rail to clear the crank throws. is it that way on the winsor motors also? what other prep work would have to be done to make it last a while. what size rod did the I-6 300 have in it? and are those compatable with winsor engines? I know they are with a small chevy with a little work.

IIRC, you may have to clearance the bottoms of some cylinder bores, but not a lot. BTW, you ought to use the stock 351 rods and stock type 302 pistons in a 393 stroker Windsor.

I have a '79 351W block, Eagle h-beam rods and Weisco 302 pro-tru flat tops. No notching of my block was required but had to notch my main stud girdle to clear rod ends on rotation and had to take off alittle metal on oil pump sides to seat correctly due to girdle and main bearing cap interference.
