P1271 question
I have a P1271 cylinder 1 high to low side open after performing the injector buzz test and I have also recently been getting the same high to low side open for cylinders 7 and 4 I believe. It seems that the there is this inconsistency as to which cylinder has the high to low side open issue. It's always moving around on me.
The engine has it's usual miss and it absolutely changes from day to day. One day it runs great and the next 7 days it runs with a slight miss. Then another day or so running better and then back to running with a miss for a while. It's completely bizarre. As usual, the miss gets worse with bad weather.
I've ohmed the connector at the IDM and everything checks out fine. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas as to what the issue could be? The only thing I can think of is that the engine harness to valve cover connector could be loose and not making good contact. But I would think that would show up in the ohm test. Or would it?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Drake
P.S. I also was curious as to why my wastegate solenoid is making a pulsing or ticking noise while the key is in on position and the engine is off? Is tghat normal?

Dontcha just love electrical gremlins frolicking under the hood?
First thing I'd check is the harness to the 42 pin connector chafing on the valve cover. An intermittent short there will do weird things. Tape it up and slip a hunk of heater hose over it for long term protection.
I think the continuity check you did would indicate the harness is good. When you say gets worse with bad weather, do you mean rain? That sounds like IDM. Great excuse to toss on a Swamp's IDM.
I don't think the wastegate solenoid should be making a ticking sound. Can't say I ever heard mine. Maybe it is the vacuum solenoid?
