Fuse 5 underhood blowing and no Cruise Control
Gents cruise stopped working suddenly. Brake lights all good, switch on the master is N/C and I do have the recall harness which has good continuity. While looking into the cruise issue, I found fuse 5 under the hood blown. This is for DRL's which I don't have, or even a harness that I can find, back up lights that are obviously not working, it energizes the trailer charge relay, and powers the trans digital position sensor. Could the tps cause a short and what symptoms would I experience if this was the problem. Also could this cause the cruise not to work if the PCM is getting poor info? What else could cause this fuse 5 to blow constantly? I have not been doing any wiring or even been under the truck for awhile. This is a California model PSD.

Just a quick update. Checked back up light wiring and found a short. Checked the TRS and had power there and with the harness disconnected still a dead short to the back up lights. Finally decided to check the in bed 7 pin trailer connecter and found the ground wire had come loose off its terminal and was causing the short. Fixed this and it's all good now. Haven't tried the cruise yet but back up lights are good and I am pretty certain I am back in business. Lesson of the day? Check the easy stuff first.
