Question about 5 lug to 6 lug conversion
I have a 1998 Expy XLT 4X4 with 17" 5 X 135 wheels. How hard is it to change the hubs to a 6 bolt pattern? I have found a few places that have the newer Ford/Lincoln wheels at VERY reasonable prices but they are all from 2003 and newer trucks. Here is what I have now:

I'm surprised no one has ever tried this. Seems you need to know the hub diameter and if the bolting is the same between the years in question. Seems to me that I started looking up the info to do the swap and the 1997-2003 use a three hole hub assembly to mount it to the carrier and the 2004-current use a four hole hub assembly. So then you are left with either changing over the carrier and hoping it mounts to the upper and lower control arms or buying a new truck...Maybe this will spur some talk form others.
