2009 V10 Exhaust Headers

So let me get this straight- almost no one makes aftermarket headers for the 3V V10's?
First off, let me thank you all for the previous posts and opinions I've read on the exhaust manifold issues and resolutions. But something I read yesterday caught me off guard- I noticed a user state that the only one that makes aftermarket headers is JBA, and they weren't the most reliable for fitment. So I am asking all of you- besides OE is my only other option JBA (I'd be ordering it from 5 star along with a tuner)? I've read what everyone else has been switching too (Thorleys Banks, etc.) and didn't realize they were all running 2V V10's. Needless to say I was disheartened when I found all this out.

The reason there aren't any 3V headers is that they really don't do anything for you. The stock exhaust manifolds are not "logs" - they are basically shorty headers, and once you get that far, there's really no reason to replace them except to say you have headers

The tune itself will wake up your 3-valve so much you won't care about headers. I hear the throttle-response alone is enough to put a BSEG on your face

Very interesting!

ive been on this forum for years watching conversations about headers and I've never noticed this "new info" about the 3valve engines.

Anyone got a pic of the stock 3 valve manifolds?

Google is your friend, yes, it's a Dorman, but looks about the same.

Are there any major pros to getting the JBA's over the OEM's? Only thing I can see is that they are stainless and you can get them in different coats. I live in Illinois so I can see plenty of salt- although I get as much as I can washed off when I can.

The OEM's are cast stainless, they get a surface coat of rust, and stop. They won't rust through.

Just went to JBA's website and I don't even see the 6.8L as a choice. I was looking at 5 star's website who still lists them: 2005-2010 Super Duty 6.8L Headers & Midpipes Archives - 5 Star Tuning

Are there any other material options that I need to avoid or do they only cast them in stainless?
