Help changing rear blocks on F350

I have a 2014 F350 (specs in my signature) and I want to change the 4" rear blocks out for F250 2" blocks to lower the rear of the truck.

Looks like a fairly straight forward replacement but I have a few questions.

Will the shocks need to be replaced? I do eventuality want to replace them as the stock ones are not that great but I only have 2500 miles on them.

When I do order new shocks for my truck after the changing the blocks do I order shocks for a F250?

I would like to go OEM parts for this but I am having trouble finding the blocks and u-bolts that I need. Anyone have the part numbers for these?

Anything else I should know about to do this swap?

Thanks for any help you can provide,

lowering?

Looking under my truck I see the bump stop is integrated into the lift block... does the f250 have the same setup? That and shorter u bolts... at first glance it looks fairly simple, you may have need of an alignment afterwards as it will slightly change caster angle...

,

good luck with that. different resellers will show different product fitments for the same truck config. ask 20 f-250 rancho owners what they have and you will get various part numbers.

I took the rancho spec brochure and measured my no load bolt to bolt lenghts, my off the ground bolt to bolt length, and my fully loaded bolt to bolt lenght of my shock and piced a part number that had the exteneded / retracted lenghts that met my travel requirements.

if you buy from a for example rancho reseller, they will support the warranty so let them pick the shock part number and answer their questions. becareful about amazon and ebay purchases...not sure how thoese folks handle the warranty or rebates.

a lot of guys with 250's put 350 blocks on and I thought they said you didn't need to change shocks. You just need the blocks(the taper is different depending on wheel base so you need the correct ones)and new u bolts.

As far as ordering new shocks afterwards I would assume that if you put the 250 blocks under the truck then you would want to order 250 shocks for the back.

ETA. I just checked for Bilstein shocks on 4 Wheel parts and the part numbers were the same for the rear of a stock 250 and 350. They did have a drop menu that allowed you to select the amount of lift/drop from the stock height, but didn't have any drop choices for them. I did check and if you took a stock 250 and added the amount of lift that would equal replacing the 250 blocks with 350 blocks it did give you a different part number.

Come on man were only talking remove 2" of lift in the rear end, I am not trading the 6.7 for a 6.2 or something.

This is one of the options I a looking at to get my cab over camper to fit in the truck
