Why do you not have a spare tire

Okay, I give up. Why do people not have spare tires for their RVs or for that matter anything they tow down the road? I get calls constantly from folks with blow-outs. Is there anyone left who does not know that RV manufacturers cut every corner they can and one way they do it is with the cheapest tires on the face of the earth.

Just my rant, but for heaven sakes, everything going down the road needs a spare tire.

How about if you are fresh out of spare tires on the trailer?

A jack would be required also. Don't forget the tire wrench.

I prefer a lug wrench.

I try to keep the 4 way in the toolbox when pulling a trailer. I know the truck lug wrench isn't the same size as the trailer.

Shouldn't be a problem, it's got enough luggage space. Hell, even Vespas carry spares

With the crap Chinese tires the manufacturers are using these days, one spare might get you to a tire shop where they will be more then happy to 'accommodate' the contents of your wallet for a set of LT's. We've been spending a few odd hours looking for a newer 5er that has a better bed setup for my wife's bad back. The very 'best' that I've seen were a set of GY Marathons on a monster length Montana. The rest - names I've never heard before even on brand spankin' new high enders (which are out of my budget plan anyhow). Then there are the Lippert frames under almost every brand.............

After reading my own post, I decided I am going to put a second spare tire carrier and tire on my fiver's bumper.

Just make sure you check the bumper welds first if it's a Lippert frame

I've been running a bumper spare for 6K miles on this 5er with no problems.

I carry a spare for the trailer and truck in the truck bed.

Under the cargo net on top of the trailer. That's where mine were kept.

Isn't that what the 5th wheel is for?

Even if you have a spare, do you ever check to see if it has air? I would bet most spares do not have the proper air pressure.
