I was under the truck today looking to see how bad the bolts holding the bed down we're. Fortunately, I guess, the previous owner swapped a newer bed on my '78 (dual tank doors, but I only have a single tank. Anyway, I noticed (again) that the rear crossmember is rusted really bad. I took some pics, and will post them later. The rot is really bad near the frame rails. In the middle, where the emergency brake passes through, not as much. Is there a reproduction of this part or does it have to come from a donor truck? It looks like it is riveted to the frame, not bolted. How would I get that from a junkyard, assuming of course I could find one. There really are no more junkyards in NJ.

Thanks
Frank

You can try these guys or have one fabricated .. There are plenty of us who have had to fabricate cross members because of modifications etc.
