Just picked up a new tank yesterday, what a great investment that was! So much nicer than the old crusty tank. Also I picked up a new fuel filter while I was at it.

The one thing that's holding me back Is a new sender module. Every one I seem to come across has the built in pump inside. I could rig up one with a pump on It and just not connect it, however I would not like to spend $160 on something I wont use. The only place that might have it was LMC truck.

They seem to show two types for my vehicle. I'm starting to believe that my trucks a 1986, its production sticker says it was made January 1st of 1987. Either way they list two under the same part number from different years.
Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

Thanks,
Adam

Thanks!
Update: After spending a few hours with a buddy struggling to re-seat the bead on one of the rims, we discovered that the previous owner had made a idiotic mistake. The rims currently on the truck are 16x7's while the tires are 16.5's So right now I'm looking for some used tires that will properly fit the rim. Im glad I noticed this now and not traveling down the highway

WOW! I didn't think people still made that mistake. One fast turn is all it would take to roll a tire. Glad you caught it now, rather than later...

I first I didn't think much of it until I had issues. Makes sense there was a generous amount of bead sealer on one of the rims...

Finally got the ol girl on the road the other night, and boy is she a blast to drive. Purchased a Holley 670 aluminum avenger, and plopped it on there. After an oil change and some plugging of vacuum lines. Still working on perfecting the ignition timing for now.

As of now the only things that aren't functioning correctly are the gas gauge, speedometer, dome light, and radio. After taking it down the highway for a short time I couldn't seem to get the trans into 5th gear, possibly a linkage issue. The speedo randomly kicks up after a downshift but that's about it.
Ill keep up to date on things to come!

Thanks,
Adam
