Dana 60 axle compatability
Hello everyone,
I am in the process of rebuilding my wrecked 76 f250 4x4 and discovered that i have a bent axle housing. (I got hit by a honda just fwd of the rear tire and overall the axle is fine and rolling but the section where the brakes/hub/tire mounts to is slightly bent back) I know a little about a lot but i am not that experienced with axles.
The ID plate on my rear axle reads: "4.10 D61A 603717-11"
I have found an axle close to my location for only 150 dollars, but the gearing is different. Dana 60 Rear Axle Full Float 76 Ford F250 Rearend 2WD Atlanta Area | eBay the year for the axle is correct and it is a dana 60 but it came off of a 2wd truck and has a different ratio.
My question to you is would i be able to buy this housing and swap the internals from my bent housing into the new one? The axle i am lookin at is ID 603581-5.
Sorry if it is an easy question or if i am leaving some key piece of information you need to help me but like i said im not that experienced with axles.

The parts list is the same, but...
D3TZ-4010-A .. 2WD Axle Housing is a different part number than your 4WD original: D3TZ-4010-C
Measure the housings to see if they match, notice locations of shock mounts. The width between the inner rear frame rails behind the cab on 1973/77 F250 4WD's (High Boys) is 33 1/2."
1973/79 F250 2WD's have 37 1/2" rear frame rails.
