Axle Type?

Hey guys,

Is a Dana 60.2 axle referred to as a locking or non-locking type of axle? I need an axle shaft but the parts guy told me its for a Dana 60.2 "locking" rear end......I thought the Dana 60.2 is a limited-slip and considered non-locking?

Thanks in advance.

Ford uses the term locking for all Limited Slip rear axles...which IMO, is confusing, cuz some ppl might think this refers to a Detroit Locker only.

C4TZ4234C .. Dana 60.2 Axleshaft / 30 splines / 29 11/16" long from splined end to inside of flange / 1 19/64" spline O/A diameter.

If this does not match what you have, it's possible your truck might have a Dana 60.3 rear axle. The axle shaft is not the same as a Dana 60.2.

C6TZ4234F .. Dana 60.3 Axleshaft / 30 splines / 29 7/32" long from splined end to inside of flange / 1 9/64" O/A spline diameter.
