Replacing a multi function switch

Replacing a multi function switch. How do I get past the top cover part of the steering wheel? The bottom cover is off but I don't k ow how to remove the top part. The kick panel is off also. Inspection due this weekend so a little urgent

Remove the dash trim piece from around the column, and also tilt the column down. To remove the trim piece you have to move the shift lever down, so apply the parking brake or chock the wheels.

Thanks for the help!

It's done and she is at the shop waiting for her inspection and tire rotations first thing tomorrow. When I hooked it up it didn't work at first so I checked the fuse and it was good. So it had me puzzled for a min thinking the wiring was going bad like the rest of the car, just turned out that somehow the relay left the vehicle.
