My question is I have a set of B code injectors on the shelf that I would like to rebuild... Some of the injector bodies are wet just how I pulled them from the truck, is it because I had leaking return lines? Or is there more to wear out? Like the bodies themselves? I have access to a pop tester and plan on setting them around 2000 psi or so.. And if the question gets asked, yes my injection pump is fresh. here is a picture of the injectors



The truck ran smooth and quiet with these old injectors in there, it just smoked a lot

 

I'm thinking the wetness is from leaking O-rings; I once had a loose injector that(obviously) wasn't sealing -- what I got was carbon deposit from the underside of the threads all the way down, filling up all of the available space around the injector.

 

just disassemble and clean, then inspect for damage etc. usually you will be fine, but check the pintle tip and seat well
