well I have been looking for one of these for ever in 1/2 way good shape. well couple weeks ago I saved a 96 Camaro from the4 salvage yard. paid $350 for it. ONLY got I cause I know stupid people like those damn things figured I could resell it for a much larger profit. well guy call and asked if I wanted to trade this is what he had

I took the trade its a 78 supercab shortbox 351m/c6
my plan is
I have a 79 f150 4x4 with 351m/c6/205 id like to graft the 4x4 front frame to the 2wd frame then convert the hubs to 8 bolt (I like the ride of coils over leaves)
put in 3/4 ton rear axle
as of right now my tow rig is a 2wd 93 f250 with efi 460 auto overdrive trans
for now id like to swap the 460 into it in front of the c6 but in the future id like to find a zf5 to put behind it
thinking on building a flat bed til I find a good shortbox for it

 

Swapping the 2wd body to the 4x4 frame will be a ton easier that a front end graft IMO.

I dig flat beds too.

 

That is a Lariat SuperCab, the first year for Lariat, and the first year of any "luxury décor" interior option available in a SC.
I'd love to see what other fun options it has. It has the vent SC windows, and the wheels are awesome. You totally scored!

personally never seen a flatbed Ive liked but I think it would look better then a ****ty rusted out box
I don't want to shorten the box any more then it already is that is the reason for the graft not swap

 

the only option that I know of off hand that im not used to is the locking hood latch
