2. Since you have no sending unit in your port, are you running a trans temp gauge (added after pic was taken)?

3. Is trans sending unit an electric sending unit installed at test port with a wire that is run to a gauge installed in cab somewhere?

4. The trans cooler you mention is one I have that I purchased new about 10 years ago. I posted a thread earlier today about this cooler. Why are you running this cooler if your temps are under 190?

Thanks
1. it's unrelated.it's a tach sensor for the 7.3l idi diesel.

2.it's a generic pic i sourced off google images to explain where the test port is.

3.i do run electric trans temp gauges in both trucks, yes.

4.i run this cooler w/ t-stat so that my trans temps do remain at or close to ideal trans temps, year round while plowing, towing, hauling.
i actually didn't buy either one.the trans shop who rebuilt my trans in chip truck installed it.the same setup came in log truck when i bought it.

You run an inline t-stat between cooler and trans? Is t-stat adjustable or fixed at a set degree?

yeah.it's in both trucks.it's there in your kit too, from your other thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-for-e40d.html

it's the blue piece you see in your package with the hose fittings/clamps.

I didn't realize it was a t-stat. I just assumed it was a manifold for line distribution. Since it does not snow where I live, and only gets down to about mid 30's, I'm wondering if I need this blue t-stat?

I should probably start with a trans temp gauge, as you suggested, and go from there.

Decisions, decisions.....

Can you elaborate on why the deeper pan will not be a problem? I run oem size tires on my 4X2.
Thanks

Is your truck 4X2? Are you running a 4WD trans pan on your 2WD truck? Are you running larger tires to increase ground clearance? Lift kit? Or is truck at stock height?

I am a little concerned about the ground clearance for my stock height 2WD truck if install the 4WD deeper trans pan.

If you are addressing the question to me my E4OD with a deep pan is on a 1994 F53. Yes the F53 is a 4X2 classed as a truck.
The F53 is a very large class "A" RV with a lot of ground clearance and it came with the deeper 4X4 pan from the factory in Mexico. All 1997 and older F53 Fords were made in Mexico.

Thanks! I thought it was the truck in your sig. I didn't realize an F53 was an RV chassis.
