1958 Ford 9 Pumkin Removal

I'm working on replacing my 3.70 with a 2.75 pumpkin, I have the axles out and the bolts taken off the 3rd member. The housing is loose, meaning I can move up/down & side/side, but I cannot get that bad boy out of there. Feels like something is holding it. It will pry up far enough that the studs are out of the holes either top or bottom, but will not come out. any ideas?

Ring gear hitting the housing perhaps? Can you have someone pry while you look into the gap? Probably best done from the top.

Once the axles are out, it should come right out.

Try moving it out evenly on the studs so it is not tilted.
