maybe for the axle flange bolts a little penetrating oil would help, but none of the bolts should be that tight, also after you get the axles and driveshaft out of the way when you take the 3rd member bolts off if you take a hammer a give each of the studs a wack they will drive into the housing and lets the 3rd member come out easier if not you have to pull the 3d member straight out or it gets cocked on he studs if space is limited like under a truck to get it .

Really the hardest part will be pulling that 3rd member off the housing. If it has never been removed it will stick like you won't believe. Be very gentle if you use this trick. Get all the nuts off the third member, use a jack and lift on the yoke gently to break the gasket. From there you will be able to wiggle and pry it off, after you have the shaft pulled of course.

sometimes the axle retaining bolts are 3/4, not sure why but 5/8 is in my head too.

You'll need an open end wrench for a couple of the pumkin bolts. 9/16" I think.

Some carriers are held on by bolts: 1/2"-13 x 2 1/8" / Some housings have studs, the nut size is 1/2"

Ford changed the brake backing plate bolt sizes in the late 70's, so there can be two sizes: 3/8" or 1/2"
