Ive experienced a stuck tcc and b solenoid. The stuck tcc made it die when put into any gear, the b made it shift from 1st to 4th, back to 2nd to 6th, then it settled in a 2,4,6 shift pattern. With the stuck tcc i had no tow haul, with the stuck b i had the tow haul light, and a case of whiplash. The code i got was a p0756 with the stuck b. so mark, if the solenoid is stuck "on" is it less likely to throw a code?. My tcc was stuck on, and my b was stuck off. Once i cleaned the b up it shifted perfect again.

It should set a code stuck on or off.

Mark,
I got a new solenoid today and will put it in later this afternoon.

I will update this thread so everyone knows the results and I hope that will help others with this problem.

Thanks,
Sean

Installed new solenoid for reverse and still does it.

I am dropping the fluid again and checking the rest of the solenoids to see if that helps.

Report back later,
Sean

Guys,

Dropped the pan again and took out the valve body and cleaned each solenoid. Nothing.

Tried a different code reader, a Mac reader with Trans reading capability and still nothing.

No tow/haul flashing either.

I am stumped.

Thanks,
Sean

Did you remember this: Bullitt390 wrote...Look under the dash and you'll see the bracket on the column. Tighten the screws.

Josh,
First thing I tried. Everything was good. I also checked operation of the shifter at the trans and it was good as well.
Thanks,
Sean

So I found a used trans on craigslist for $700 if I pulled it. 4 hours later I am home.

Does anyone have a manual? I took the transfer case off from the front on the trans and not the rear. It would not separate! I actually broke the adapter flange prying on it!

I have the adapter on my trans just want to put all the parts in the right place.

Google is not much help with this.

Thanks,
Sean

After replacing the two solenoids I was out of options. It was easier to buy a used trans than pay about the same amount to diagnose mine.

I need the truck for work so down time is nt really an option.

My plan is to rebuild the one out of the truck as time permits so I have a spare.

Thanks,
Sean

How many miles on the one you bought?. 700 sounds like a good deal.

It had 170k on it. I had to pull it so it was a deal but I worked for it!

Thanks,
Sean

Yeah it was just a reminder anyway, I was hoping it was something that simple and inexpensive but we know how that goes right?

All set!

The new transmission is in and working. No issues with shifting and no codes.

I find that for a transmission with such a great reputation I find this failure odd. I have yet to send out my transmission out for an analysis of the failure but I had no warning and no codes.

At least I am back on the road.

Thank you all for the help and encouragement.
