'60 Flareside vs. '65 Flareside
OK, so perhaps ND can help but I'll welcome any feedback.
So I go to the local auto parts recycler (junkyard) this morning just to see what they have and I find a great 1960 F100 Flareside 8 foot and the bed is in excellent condition. However I notice that the side bed panels have a slight flare into the bed whereas my '65 has smooth side bed panels and is the 6 1/2 foot bed. This '60 flareside panels are in much better condition than my current panels so I'm thinking of purchasing the '60 bed. Will this bed bolt up to my 1965 frame? Does the "flare" in the '60 cause any issues?
Thanks for any feedback.

In 1961, the 1957 part numbers were replaced again. The 1961 part numbers remained the same thru 1972.
F350's with their exclusive 9' Express bed quarter panels were replaced in 1957, the 1957 part numbers remained the same thru 1972.
The 1953/56 tailgates were also replaced in 1957, remained the same thru 1972.
The 1953/56 Flareside fenders were replaced in 1957, remained the same thru 1979.
The 1953/56 front panel part numbers didn't change until 1976.
If Ford says all these parts will interchange, I see no reason why the entire bed couldn't be used.
The 8' mounting holes may be different due to a change in the length of the wheelbase.

The '60 thru'66 6 1/2' and 8' flaresides are almost completely different beds, the 8' is longer, wider and taller. The same '60 thru '66 8' flareside bed was used on both F 100 and F 250. The difference is the location of the fenders and mounting braces to frame, which is depends on the wheelbase of vehicle.
