i have pulled the plugs and heated the plugs and rolled the engine over put the plugs back in and pulled the relay for fuel pump. sprayed starting fluid in it fired once then nothing

ok it firing is a good sign sometimes using real volatile cleaner like ether it will fire without spark. compression is good it will fire you said it was blowing black smoke i could not find that thread to read it my fault all of these point to a fuel issue of some sort it seems like if clearing the engine out had no effect and spraying fluid has little effect then at this point you should go after a fuel issue based on it firing then i assume you either sprayed to much or access fuel was still present get a fuel pressure gauge and get pressure readings if your truck was blowing black smoke that usually indicates a rich condition or just un burned fuel if it was runing rich then that should be stored in the computer so fuel gauge and you NEED to check the codes seems like fuel is the one of the only main areas you have not checked or you have a low spark condition as it should at least run on ether but fuel seems the simplest to do right now

Ok then at this point does looking at fuel sound doable to you if not you could go after something like weak spark other spark related issues and lots of other things.
and you did gap the plugs right
