Track bar rules?

What are the best track bar "rules" ? Buliding my own. Out of 2" .250 wall, 1.75" heims. 4link front, triangulated top bars, massive lift on coil overs. Ive heard some stuff but wonder what yall say. And how/when to build, full compression? ride height? Paralelle to what? Same length as what? Thanks guys

If it's not parallel with the drag link you'll get bump steer. And ideally you also want it about the same length, and mounted about the same points right-to-left as the drag link as well.

For the least side-to-side movement of the axle you want the track bar (and drag link) horizontal in the middle of the suspension travel. But practicality usually says that it's angled down to the axle for most, if not all of the travel.

And any bends in the track bar (or drag link) do not change the effective angle. Draw a straight line from one end to the other. That's the angle it's running at. If that line runs through other parts then you need to bend it to clear. But the geometry is the same as if it was straight. (Bending does obviously weaken it as well, but might be needed for clearance.)
