LED Tail Light not working

Purchased a set of LED tail lights for the beast last week. I'm having an issue. I know about the hyper flash and I expected that but what is happening is the tail light doesn't come on, it blinks when the turn signal is activated but no tail light, dead. Remove bulb and put old bulb regular standard incadescent bulb back in and it works before it's seated in the socket. Anyone know why this is happening? Here's the link to evil bay and what I purchased, maybe it will help.

If your lights work properly with the standard OEM bulb, but not with the new ones, then there must be something wrong with the new ones.

Is there a friend with an Excursion or an F250/350 truck you can try them on before you return or exchange them?

have you tried putting the bulb in opposite of the way you put it in the first time? meaning turn it 90 degrees and put it in the socket again and try it.

I have actually received another set from the seller because he sent the wrong style. They were still 3157 reds but not what was pictured. They didn't work and that's how it started then I realized when I looked back at the listing to see if I "missed" something he shipped wrong one. He rectified it immediately and I had the correct ones in 3 days. I put them in and same thing. So, I tried them in my 92 SC and they still didn't work. Same thing as the Excursion. What's interesting about this is as I mess with the bulb putting it in I can get the tail light portion to light up but any little movement or seating the bulb fully the tail light portion goes out. When the tail light portion is on then the brake/blinker doesn't work, seat the bulb, tail light goes out and then brake/blinker works. That has me confused. I get wiring, I get all that but this is confusing. I can't find anything on the web about it except with the fast flash. He's selling a lot of these bulbs and I don't think I got 2 sets that are different and both are bad. I looked at the contacts on the bulbs and they are identical to the ones on the original. If anything is bad, it's inside. I bench test with 12V and bulb works touching contacts. What I'm wondering is does the Excursion take a certain kind of 3157/3357 bulb? Mine said 3157K I think. Not sure what the "k" means but from what I found, means nothing. Yes, I have tried to rotate it, many times and wiggle it and everything else. I even went so far to insert some wire into each of the 4 holes on the base of the bulbs to lengthen and touch contacts in the socket. It will work until I touch one of the contacts and then tail light goes out. Same thing as above, only one will work at a time, not both the tail and brake.

If the led's don't come on, you may need to flip the connector around as led's are polarized +/- and will only work in one direction.

I have theses in everything including the excursion

I was thinking about getting the whole LED taillight unit...but maybe this style is better? Certainly cheaper, I'll give you that. Does anyone have opinions one way or the other?

I like the CREE reverse LED lights from Retro-Solutions. Have a set in my Ex and my F250.

I did the CREE for my reverse lights with the projector style and I like it. There is more and easier to see behind. I returned the 2 sets of bulbs. I am guessing they are both defective from the factory. I will order another set of bulbs that have the built in load resistors so I don't have to worry about special flashers or load resistors. Maybe those will work.
