I was looking to replace my tail lights bulb on my 05 excursion with the led bulbs. I was told that they look great but sometimes will cause the blinker to blink fast as if a light is out. Has anyone expierenced with these and if so what do you think? recommend? Your help is greatly appreciated. Dan
Hey Dan,
I had LEDs on my old X and yes the turn signal blinks faster as if you had a light out but i didnt care they looked awesome , but if that bothers you i heard that there is something that you can buy that connects to the bulb that stops that from happening the thing is that LEDs use less energy and makes the X think it has a busted light. Hope this is helpfull.
There are flashers made for the extra load of a trailer, there should also be flasher made for the cars that are using LEDS and drawing less current. Check with a auto supply.
Autozone sells the flasher designed for LED's for ~$15. Had to get one for mine. LED's on all the lights - even the corner markers, running boards, and 3rd brake light. Looks good at night and easier to see in the daylight IMO.
You should also be able to put a resistor in circuit with the bulb. THe LED has les resistance than the standard bulb, so adding the resistor will fool the truck.
Measure the resistance of the bulb, and the LED, get a reisitor for the value of the difference.
