Header wrap. How much and which one to get?

I am wanting to wrap the down tube when I install my van turbo. I have heard it makes the cab a little more quiet. I was sitting in the passenger seat the other day and there is more of a drone over there compared to the drivers side. Might make it nicer for my wife.

I know someone on here has done it I just cant remember who.

I have no experience with header wrap so I don't know how much it will take or what to get.

Thanks!

DEI makes some really good stuff. No connection to the race team. Also make a great turbo heat shield blanket

I have been wanting to try this to reduce cab heat from downpipe.

DEI Introduces Titanium Pipe Shield | Exhaust Header Wrap and Thermal Performance Products | Design Engineering, Inc.

I don't know what it would do for the drone issue.

I am also thinking about wrapping my headers. Not only for the heat, but for looks as well. Is this the best bet? Or is there some kind of paint that will never cook off? I tried heat paint, but that did not work. Thanks in advance, Rob

Ceramic coating would be what I would do. It will preserve the headers from salt etc and will reduce heat by up to 30% (Vendors claim).

Get more then you think you might need. It's easier to return when the job is done then it is to have to get more in the middle of it.
Also get some good ss worm clamps. I've never had any luck with the band type that come with it.

One thing to keep in mind is that any time you use a wrap style cover on your hot exhaust components, you have the potential to end up with some separation which can hold in both plain moisture as well as chloride (salt) laden moisture from winter roads in cold climates. Either will result in accelerated corrosion, and for that reason alone, the paintable ceramic coating is probably your best option.
