4wd cab light

I own a 2004 f-350 and the 4wd light stays on when the switch in cab is turned to 2wd. I went through a car wash yesterday and when I came home I switched it into 4wd to hook up a trailer. The truck was in 4wd all night. This morning my wife turned switch to 2wd and 4wd light stayed on. Is it possible something froze up since the temperature at best was 15 degrees? Any insights?
Thanks,
JT

something could have certainly got wet that shouldn't have. To me this would mean your transfer case is stuck in 4wd. If you have manual hubs and not the vacuum operated ones you can flip the hubs to free and watch the axles as someone drives to see if they spin. The motor on the tranfer case could have taken a crap as well. I guess the first thing would be to pull the connector on the transfer case motor and inspect/clean maybe put some dielectric grease in there and retry. Just use caution in the mean time not to turn too sharp on dry pavement it can be hard on the front U joints.
