That just sux that I'd have to leave the vcm with the customer to use the recorder. I was hoping I could just plug it in to the Obd and go by that. But no dice. No way am I letting anyone drive off with my vcm!! Lol

It's for when YOU test drive the vehicle, not the customer. The dealer would never let that leave the lot with an everyday Joe customer.

Dang, so the dealer did allow that.

How large of a deposit?

Will it work with the IDS or is something more needed?

Yes that thing is a cfr.
IT looks to be missing cables to interface with with the computer to set it up.
As well as the trigger cable

A lot of our local independant shop owners do not even use IDS/VCM just too expensive initial cost and licsenseing for their taste I guess.

Even when I was with the fleet with over 300 powerstrokes we did not have IDS or even have a shop owned scanner until my second year with them and mine were aftermarket.
Much cheaper.

I think we are at 92.02,,, which seems like every third update or so just causes problems. Shop operators???? Never heard that before. Might be 95.02. Can't remember.

Dealershipcloseouts- Review Purchase- AWESOME

The guys at www.dealershipcloseouts.com have been great! We purchased the VCM from them and then the VCM II. Once our licenses expired we also purchased the renewal from them guys. Our shop recommends them since the after sale support was great.

We are thinking about buying their MicroPod II from them. Thanks
