adding tranny fluid using cooler line

welcome to the forum!
interesting idea ... i don't see why you couldn't push fluid back into the pan through the cooler return line.
would be better to have it towed, but if you have to drive it, might want to have a plan B on how you would add fluid along the way if needed -- especially if it is leaking badly as you say.
good luck and keep us posted!

adding fluid using cooler line
Thanks for the help. not sure how much I lost but it is shifting high and the OD off light is flashing . thinking of using a pump sprayer from home depot and pushing a few QTs in so she shifts better. had the unit rebuilt 4yrs ago. Don't want to do that again.

adding tranny fluid
Not sure where that is, not a lot of room under there. I ended up putting a tee in the cooler line and pumping the fluid into the tranny that way. it worked good. my only concern is not to over fill it. It holds 12 qts and it seemed very low. I will put in 6qts, shop is about 50 miles away.
