Distributor gear question 302

I've got a 302 with a performer Edelbrock cam and I'm trying to buy a stock replacement distributor and I'm not sure if I need a steel or cast iron gear? Any ideas?

I don't think you care. I've never had that come up ordering a distributor. If it was a different size or # of teeth they would probably state that.

Give Edelbrock a call. The wrong gear will wear quickly and possibly destroy your cam.

Cast iron. Steel is for roller cams.
