Replaced Starter and still just clicks
I went to start the truck after work Wednesday and click... beat the starter with a hammer for awhile and finally turned over, restarted when I got home. Let it sit yesterday, since I did not want to get stuck again. Last night I replaced the starter with a Reman from Auto zone. I watched him bench test the replacement before he sold it to me and it worked. Once it was installed, I get the same click. I can hear the solenoid click on the starter but it is not spinning.
It was cold and late so I packed it in for the night. When I get home today I am going to check the battery's again. Just had them load tested a week ago and they checked fine. is there anything else I should check before I assume I got a junk Autozone starter and pull it again?

Remove the belt and see if maybe the A/C or something has seized and not allowing the motor to spin. If no spin then try turning the motor "by hand" and/or remove all glow plugs and watch for fluid coming out.- possibly hydro locked?

So here is what I ended up doing.
Checked all connections and they were clean and tight. Turned key on and jumped the power to the signal wire, started right up. turned key off tried to restart... nothing but a click.
Pulled new starter back out and took to AutoZone. Surprise, it test good. I switch it out anyway and re install. Batteries are now too low to fire it over. Jump it to my buddy's Chevy (never gonna hear the end of that one) and it starts right up. So the batteries are on the charger and I hope it starts fine in the morning, I have to go pick up my new trailer at 9am.
My thoughts are the solenoid on the "new" one had a issue. I am pretty sure it will start in the morning, but if not I will be back to rant. Just had the batteries tested two weeks ago, but think I will go get new ones just to be sure

Right I don't think its the Starter
You might need to check with a DVM before you get stranded Just like Sean Video
If it tests OK then we will Move on to test something else
What I see is you Mess with the Wires each time and BOOM it starts then Goes to a NO STart again Maybe a Wire Chaff
Could also be a Flakey relay so
